Gregory Collet

Gregory Collet, MPsy, PhD, received a master in Neuropsychology (magna cum laude) in 2007 and obtained his PhD in Psychological Sciences in 2012 from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) under the supervision of Pr. Cécile Colin and Pr. Jacqueline Leybaert. His research focused mainly on the mechanisms underlying learning and brain plasticity subsequent to an auditory training period, especially in the context of categorical perception of linguistic stimuli. These changes were investigated in adults, in neurotypical-children and in children with specific language impairment (SLI).

During his PhD, he spent more than 6 month in the Brain and Behavior laboratory (University of Washington, WA) under the supervision of Pr. Kelly Tremblay to get more experience in auditory training and electrophysiology. He also collaborated with Pr. Willy Serniclaes (Laboratoire Psychologie de la Perception, CNRS, Université Paris Descartes, and Unité de Recherche en Neurosciences Cognitives, UNESCOG, ULB) to develop a statistical model contributing to a better analysis of categorical perception. Moreover, he gained experience in the domain of sleep when he worked with Pr. Philippe Peigneux (Functional Neuroimaging and Neuropsychology Research Unit, ULB) on the potential benefit of sleep after auditory training.

After his PhD, he worked as a clinical and research assistant in Neurophysiology at the CHU-UVB Brugmann under the supervision of Pr. Paul Deltenre. He currently works as a post doctoral researcher at the Royal Military Academy.
